WB Construction & Son's, Inc. projects include:
Child, Inc. - Head Start Facility is a Renovation project Renovation of a 14,230 sq ft building damaged by Ice storm in 2021, the water pipes busted and flooded the entire building. WB demoed the interior except for the framework, ceiling, lighting, and flooring. Replaced the outside HVAC condensing units and fan coil units, plumbing fixtures, installed new LED lighting fixtures, fire alarm system, new storefront, and other electrical. WB worked 6-7 days a week schedule to repair this building before school started mid-August 2021.
Mt. Sinai is a Design-Build Renovation project that had 3 phases of construction. PHASE I was the insertion of a new metal building structure inside the walls of the existing building. The new Sanctuary seats 1,900 with a state-of-the-art sound system for concerts and broadcasting., a full-size stage, and a 110 seat choir. Phase I also included the Administration section and Main entranceway to the Church. PHASE II was the second floor level of the Administration building that included Classrooms, Offices, Band Practice Hall, and a new Hydraulic Elevator System.
The Medical Center was a new Design-Build project for patient services, that included exam rooms, lab, offices, and reception area.
This project was the renovation and modernization of an existing church building. The work included enclosed vehicle facilities, a new library area, interior LED lighting, ceramic floor tiling, and updated restroom facilities.
Willow Chute Baptist Church
Willowchute was a Design-Build project that encompasses a 15,000 SF Multi-Purpose building that was designed to house a full-size high-school gymnasium, a full commercial kitchen, 12 – 150 sq ft classrooms, and 1 large office and meeting room for the Pastor. New Parking was placed around the new structure as well.
This renovation project involved a 14,500 sq ft Multi-Purpose Building which consisted of 8 classrooms, a receptionist area, pastor's office, conference room, a gymnasium, and a kitchen.
Mt. Canaan New Multi-Purpose Building is a 15,000 sq. ft design/build facility designed with classrooms on the outer walls and a master multi-purpose room approximately 5,000 SF that sits in the middle of the building. This building is housed with a state-of-the-art video and sound system. There is a 46” monitor in each of the classrooms and 22 monitors in the master multi-purpose room. A Kitchen and Bridal Sweet is included as well.
The Ozen High School Campus Renovation Project consisted of Interior Renovations & MEP Upgrades of Interior Renovations of five (5) Classrooms Buildings, Gymnasium and Auditorium Building.and Chiller Yards. This renovation covered demoltion and installation of new chillers, air handlers, and piping througthout the campus. The five Classrooms building were upgraded with new lighting, new tiled floors and ceilings.
New School Construction of a 115,000 SF. Features of work included site preparation, placing piers and foundation, steel erection, roofing, and external metal framing. The school was constructed of red iron for the main framing structure. The layout of the school included eight (8) kintergartens, thirty-four (34) classrooms, science and art labs, special needs classrooms, music section,large library, computer classrom, stage and gym. The admininstration section of the building has a medical clinic.
CMU’s blocks were used for interior halls, firewalls, and the gym walls. Metal framing was used for interior walls, library cupola, and interior partitions. The entire school building has a brick façade. Terrazzo was placed in all hallways and cafeteria floors. The HVAC piping was routed through the main hallways and cast-iron roof drains were insulated and channeled to the perimeter of the building. The contract required dual chillers to ensure a conditioned environment during school hours. The school’s electrical requirements: 3,000 Amp, 480 volts, 3 Phase power system. WB Construction and Sons, Inc. planned, managed, and controlled over 25 different subcontractors on contract agreements, scheduling, coordination meetings, and correspondence as it related to this project. Our firm provided the Project Manager, Construction Superintendent, Quality Control, and Safety Manager plus personnel to support the General Requirements activities at the Jobsite.
Project was a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for the construction of a new 78,000 SF elementary school. The school consists of six (6) kindergartens, twenty-two (22) classrooms, special needs, computer, art, and science labs, library, cafteria, kitchen, and the administration section included a Medical Clinic.
WB Construction and Sons, Inc. planned, managed, and controlled over 32 different sub-contractors during the project. This included negotiating subcontractors on contract agreements, scheduling, coordination meetings, and correspondence. Our firm provided the Project Manager, Construction Superintendent, Quality Control, and Safety Manager plus personnel to support the General requirements activities at the job site. The work included site preparation, placing piers and foundation, steel erection, roofing, and external metal framing. The school was constructed of red iron for the main framing structure. The HVAC piping was routed through the main hallways and a standby generator was installed in the Mechanical yard.
The project was a Design-Build structure. The Sanctuary interior was constructed of steel, light-weight concrete, and heavy metal framing and is situated in the center part of the building. It contains a large open area with seating cascading from the third level down to the ground floor. Video and audio production rooms are built into the second-level balcony. The unique design of a floating cloud ceiling that rises from the back part of the Sanctuary to its highest point over the choir section was a construction challenge to place, align, and fasten the one-hundred and seven (107) cloud panels to the ceiling. The pulpit, orchestra pit, and a 120 seat choir make up the rest of the Sanctuary. The plumbing work included installing four large restrooms and three single units on the ground floor, two restrooms on the 2ndfloor, and a baptistery on the 3rdlevel. Full 22-foot vertical masonry brick facing around the perimeter of the building with an Energy-Efficient Exterior Insulation Finishing System (EIFS) on the 2nd and 3rd levels of the building. The building was wired for production quality digital, video and audio. The flooring on the ground floor is ceramic tile excluding the Sanctuary which is carpeting. The parking area in the back of the structure is concrete. The front of the Sanctuary building is finished with colored concrete. A sprinkler system with concealed heads was installed throughout the building. The project included extensive site work, excavation, underground utilities, 135 concrete piers ranging from 1’ to 48” diameters with 45-degree bells to support the structure. The foundation and slab were continuously poured using over 1,400 CY of concrete. The structure has 45,000 SF metal and brick building that consists of two (2) floor levels including a Sanctuary with a balcony (seating 1,800). This project included all disciplines of construction from site work to landscaping. The project was designed to Silver LEED standards but was not certified by the Owner. WB Construction provided Project Management, Quality Control, Supervision, Scheduling, and Safety enforcement. W.B. Construction also self-performed general conditions, demolition, daily clean-up, site work, excavation, grading, paving, and concrete work with our own workforce.
Victory to Victory Baptist ChurchThis project was a Design-Build structure. The sanctuary is approximately 9,500 square feet and seats approximately 500 congregants. The structure is a prefabricated metal building with a
Standard seam metal roof. The foundation was built for a future brick façade. Flooring consists of ceramic tile, carpeting, and painted concrete. Some other additional features are the choir stand and baptismal.
Wharf Apron Slab Repair Project that consisted of renovating Carroll Street wharf infrastructure and warehouse entrances.
Antioch Baptist ChurchThis church was a Design-build of a 36,000 SF metal-framed structure and brick building. The structure is built of metal red iron with a brick façade throughout the entire building. The sanctuary is carpeted. Custom woodwork on the walls. This building consisted of two levels one being the sanctuary and the other the balcony. Completed construction provided: - 22,000 SF Sanctuary that seats 1,000 on 1st level & 400 on 2nd level - 1,000 SF Commercial kitchen - Dramatic 2-story lobby at entrance - 68,000 SF parking lot - Marble floors were installed in all hallways.
This project was a Design-Build structure that was designed to be versatile and adaptable with meetings and ballrooms, including two meeting rooms that can accommodate smaller functions, a computer, and an executive boardroom. All rooms were designed and furnished for maximum comfort and the utmost flexibility for any type of business or personal special event. The Compro Event Center’s ballroom is fitted with retractable walls for various room configurations, allowing for customizing meeting space for maximum use. Business gatherings or seminars and more occasions such as banquets or receptions, these rooms can accommodate any function. The Compro Event Center has a total maximum square footage of 15,000. The parking lot is configured at approximately 80,000 square feet.
Ongoing & Future Projects
The Family Life Center (FLC) is PHASE 3 of the Mt. Sinai Campus construction project. PHASE III is the erection of a new Family Life Center 30,000 SF metal building on the existing concrete slab. The interior consists of a Welcome Center, a total of 13 Classrooms with five of them being double-sized, a large Fellowship Hall (5,500 SF), a Commerical Kitchen, and a regulation size High School Basketball court and bleachers with a room capacity of 450.
The project is a Design-Build 15,000 SF church structure with a Sanctuary, Administration Offices, Classrooms, Cafe, and Kitchen.
